Esperanza, my given middle name, is the Spanish name meaning hope. I have added Luna (Spanish for moon) to symbolize guidance as we make it through the hardest and darkest times.
As for my background, I am freshly 21, of Mexican American decent but grew up in Ventura California. I love animals, the ocean, sunset chasing, music and being with my family. I am currently working part time as a nanny while I get my foot into the birth worker door as a doula. I have been working as a nanny for seven years and more recently (pre covid) I was working as a daycare teacher. With this in my back pocket, I hope to bring some of the skills I have in childcare and ECD (early childhood development) into my doula services.
My goal is to work as a doula for a few years while I start a non-profit to bring doulas to places there they would not otherwise be provided. I want to make supportive birth a right, not a luxury. I am birth worker who believes that my power is to be the empowering guide for the birthing person as they bring new life into this world. Mothers are the portal to life. I love to bring rhythm, dance and music into the process as I feel those are some of our best gifts.
I am thrilled to be embarking on my Doula journey and am thankful I have found my passion so young. There is so much I have to offer to the beautiful labor and birth experience and even more than that, I am looking forward to learning so much more!
